Two Ways to Compete at the ISAS Annual Meeting

Students may apply under both opportunities but can only compete in ONE section.

1. Apply directly to ISAS

Students/Teams can apply directly to ISAS to compete within the given sections/categories.

If applying under this option, students/teams will compete directly against the undergraduate posters in the same category.

Abstract submissions made directly to ISAS are due TBD

ISAS Application

Registration for the ISAS Annual Meeting is also required by TBD

Registration costs vary. A guest is also required for junior high and high school attendees.

A sponsor or parent may attend as a guest for multiple students.

2. Apply to compete in the IJAS section of ISAS

Students/Teams can apply to IJAS to compete in the IJAS section of ISAS.

If applying under this option, students/teams will compete only against the top 25 projects in the IJAS Section.

Submit your IJAS Abstract to ISAS@ijas.org by February 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM CST.

The IJAS Selection Committee will meet and select the Top 25 projects.

The top 25 will be announced on March 15, 2025 at 11:59 PM CST.

Registration for the ISAS Annual Meeting is also required by TBD.

IJAS will cover the cost of registering the IJAS student/team.

A guest is also required for all junior high and high school attendees.

A sponsor or parent may attend as a guest for multiple students. Contact ISAS@ijas.org if this is an issue.

IJAS Section of ISAS - Rules

  • Applicant must be enrolled in an Illinois School or Illinois-based program (such as IMSA-RISE or Illinois STEM Society) or be an Illinois resident being homeschooled.
  • Applicant must be an individual IJAS member or a student of an IJAS member school.
  • Applicant must be a 7th-12th grade student.
  • Applicant & project must follow ALL IJAS Policy & Procedures and ALL ISAS Rules & Regulations.
  • Applicant MUST compete in their IJAS Regional Poster Session.
